Welcome to the Hydraloop Maintenance Guide. This guide is designed to help you understand and perform the necessary maintenance tasks to keep your Hydraloop system running efficiently and effectively. This guide is written for Hydraloop H300 and H600 versions 2.0 and later.
Why Maintenance is Important #
Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Hydraloop. This guide provides a clear overview of what is involved.
Regular maintenance helps to:
- Ensure system efficiency: Keeping your Hydraloop in top condition ensures it operates at peak efficiency. Ensuring high quality reusable water.
- Prevent issues: Identifying and addressing potential problems early can prevent costly repairs and downtime.
- Extend lifespan: Proper care and maintenance can significantly extend the life of your Hydraloop device.
Frequency #
Maintenance should be done every 2 years. Some items have a longer interval. This is indicated behind the items.
Hydraloop Device Manager (HDM) #
When performing maintenance tasks, always log onto the HDM to the device the maintenance is performed on. In the maintenance tab, you will be guided through the complete process, step-by-step.
The HDM maintenance instructions are updated regularly. This maintenance guide is meant as a general description of the required maintenance, frequency and implication for system owners. Always follow the steps according to the HDM. This will also log the actions to your Hydraloop device.
Required tools and equipment #
Below is a complete list of tools with which you can do all sorts of maintenance.
Each maintenance sequence within the HDM has a starting page showing which tools you need for that specific task. Pease check this before going on site.
General maintenance tools: #
- Torx T20 screwdriver
- Phillips PH2 screwdriver
- Diffuser removal tool * or Multifunction belt/strap wrench
- 8 – 10 mm x 1.2 m tube cleaning brush *
Tools required for troubleshooting: #
- Flat/slotted screwdriver
- Water pump pliers
- Long/needle nose pliers
- Side cutter
- Utility knife
- 7 mm ring and open spanner
- 8 mm x ¼” drive socket and ratchet
- Multi meter
- Heat gun / lighter
- Spray bottle with diluted dishwashing soap
Other tools: #
- Step ladder
- Bucket
- Rags
- Soft brush
- Funnel with flexible hose
Consumables: #
- Citric acid
- Lubricant
- Thread sealant
- Cable ties

Regular maintenance #
The maintenance interval is every 2 years. Some items have a longer interval. This is indicated behind the items.
Before starting, there are some preparation steps. After completing the maintenance, log the work in the HDM and schedule the next service for 2 years later.
Step-by-Step Maintenance Plan #
Preparation before going on site (Pre-Maintenance Tasks) #
- HDM check: Log into HDM of the device which needs maintenance and check:
- recycling history
- device behaviour history
- ticket history
- service log
- Upgrades Needed: Check if any parts need upgrading (e.g. Check Valve, Transfer Upgrade)
- Order Supplies: Get the spare part kit (UV light, Air pump, etc.) and any spare parts you might need
- Do a dry run: Use the dry run function in the HDM of the scheduled maintenance
- Schedule Appointment: Set up a time with the owner for the maintenance
Onsite Maintenance Tasks #
When performing these tasks, always log onto the HDM to the device the maintenance is performed on. In the maintenance tab, you will be guided through the steps.
The HDM maintenance instructions are updated regularly. The descriptions below are general recommendations and may change over time or be different for your version of Hydraloop. Always follow the steps according to the HDM.
- Visual Inspection:
- Look for any damage to the Hydraloop.
- Check all connections
- Make sure the LED light is working.
- Check for water damage around the unit.
- Maintenance Steps:
- Remove the front plate.
- Empty the T1, T2, and T3 tanks.
- Remove and clean the Grey Water Inlet (e.g. hair and debris)
- Remove and clean the Pressure Tubes (Inlet and T1).
- Remove and clean the Air Diffuser.
- Disconnect and clean the upper, middle and lower Transfer Tubes.
- Replace Parts:
- Replace the UV light
- Replace backup batteries (every 4 years)
- Replace air pump (every 4 years)
- Replace air diffuser (every 4 years)
- Final Steps:
- Run a confirmation test sequence (HDM guided)
- Run the Citric Acid cleaning program and test the system
- This test takes +/- 1 hour. You do not have to stay on site.
