HL0001: Bioreactor buildup period

Table of contents

Part of the cleaning process of a Hydraloop is the bioreactor. This bioreactor needs to develop on its own by receiving gray water.

When a system is just installed there is no bioreactor to start with. Thus it will need 21 days and a minimum of 20 showers/baths entering the Hydraloop. This way enough time and water has passed for the bioreactor to start developing.

Inactivity/Vacation #

If the Hydraloop has been out of use for an extended period of time, the bioreactor needs to re-develop. The Hydraloop does this as follows:

  • If no water entered the Hydraloop for 5+ weeks, rebuild the bioreactor for 8 days and a minimum of 10 showers/baths.
  • If no water entered the Hydraloop for 3 weeks, rebuild the bioreactor for 5 days and a minimum of 10 showers/baths.
  • Less then 3 week? The system just continues as usual.
